  • description

Originally built for the carpenter and family, who would have been working on the Thorington Hall Estate when the farm was part of a bigger estate in the C19th, this is very much a country homestead. Ideal for families or couples who want to escape urban living and experience a more peaceful pace of life on a farm. Carpenter’s cottage provides a perfect base from which to explore Suffolk's Heritage Coast being a short drive away from the popular coastal towns of Southwold, Walberwick, Dunwich and the Minsmere nature reserve. The cottage is pet friendly although do bear in mind that this is a working farm and dogs must be kept under control; it is even possible for you to bring your horse(s) with you as Dunwich Forest and bridleways are not far away!

Thank you for a lovely stay. The cottage is a brilliant base for exploring surrounding Suffolk. We covered lots of ground in just 5 days. The cottage was great for us and 3 children and there was plenty to keep everyone occupied. the weather has been great but already thinking about a return trip in Winter for the fire. Vikki and family, (Stayed August 2016)

Another lovely stay at Carpenters Cottage. Just right for our little family. Lucy was very helpful throughout the booking process and during our stay. Will be back I hope. Bell Family, (Stayed December 2016)
Lovely stay, in a unique cottage. Was a treat to be able to use the aga. Had surprise visit from bunny rabbit and a dog much to my nieces delight. Highly recommend Kelly, (Stayed July 2017)
