  • description
This traditional Suffolk cottage has been delightfully refurbished to provide spacious accommodation with views of the castle

The sitting room has a large log burning stove, fireside chairs and views from the french doors, of the cottage garden. The galley style kitchen is fully fitted and leads to a small, lean-to, conservatory running the full width of the cottage and catching the morning sun. The first floor has a gallery landing with a writing desk. There are two bedrooms that overlook the garden and a spacious family bathroom. Once settled into the cottage, you won't need to drive as the village stores, pubs and restaurants are all within walking distance. Orford village is within Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a great base for everything from walking and cycling, sailing and crabbing to an historic exploration of Suffolk's castles and churches

Please note the property is only available for children aged 6 years and above during August.

Many thanks for offering us a great last minute stay. It was just what we needed. The cottage was perfect and Orford is delightful. We planned ahead to be able to use National Trust and English Heritage sites at Sutton Hoo, Dunwich and Framlingham for some great walks. Also trips to Aldeburgh and Southwold. Even Snape Maltings is almost completely open. We had a great time and our 9 year old appreciated being able to make us all play football with him in the garden. Oh and a lovely dinner at the Crown & Castle - we had a private room! Emily, (Stayed July 2020)
Quiet cottage in a fab village. Thanks for our stay, really enjoyable, beautifully quiet & relaxing Henry, (Stayed July 2020)
This is a picturesque cottage located within the village and just a short walk from anywhere you would want to visit. Great communication from the hosts, and I particularly appreciated the Christmas decorations. I’d happily stay here or in another CottageTree property in future. Tom, (Stayed January 2020)

Cosy cottage in an amazing place. Host were lovely and went above and beyond to help. Would definitely stay here again. The Cottage was absolutely delightful. I have stayed in several cottages in Orford and this has been far the best. We really appreciate all the information and communication received leading up to our stay as well. Only regret is we didn't have time to fill out the visitor's book! Constance, (Stayed February 2019)
“Lovely cosy comfortable cottage, with a great garden which would be very welcome in warmer months. Nice welcome pack and very useful, good quality toiletries in the bathroom too. Orford and surroundings are lovely and the village has a wealth of great places to eat as well as a shop and bakery. We would have liked to have stayed longer!” Vicky, (Stayed January 2019)
“Such a cosy little cottage, perfect for a break near the coast. There was a lovely welcome pack when we came in and the cottage was very clean and was easy to get around with the instructions etc. Close to the shop, bakery and the quay, it’s a great location and coming home to a cosy fire after a day out was heaven.” Tabitha, (Stayed January 2019)
Cosy cottage ideally located down a quiet lane. We had a great few days over half term and found plenty to entertain the kids, from crabbing at the quay to birdwatching in Minsmere and playing games in front of the fire early evening. Very restful spot. We enjoyed cosying up in front of the fire after blustery walks by Orford Ness. Really loved the extensive games collection, thank you! and the flowers were beautiful Charlotte, (Stayed October 2018)
