“We stayed here for two weeks whilst our house is being renovated and wanted a home away from home in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. During our stay pheasants, squirrels, ducks, rabbits all came and played in the garden making it feel alive with nature. We especially loved the blue tits that come to the bedroom patio every morning and the spectacular daily red and pink sunsets across the back field. Blossom was blooming and everything felt a little bit magical. The decking is a great sun trap and the house has everything you need to whip up some great meals or have a BBQ. Versus our expectations from the listing, it was a little less secluded and the main road was a bit noisy - but everyone is different when it comes to these things. We would definitely come and stay again and we’re sure the summer is even more beautiful than the Spring! Enjoy x” Liz, (Stayed April 2020)
“This is our second time staying here at the Cart Lodge, we had another amazing stay. There is also an escape room on site which we thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend. Already planning our third stay. ” Lee & Laura, (Stayed March 2020)
Such a beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet location! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend away! Charlotte, (Stayed February 2020)
“We had the most amazing time at the cottage, such a wonderfully thought out space. Hosts were amazing and it felt like a little quiet piece of paradise. Not only would we highly recommend, but are now planning our next stay :) Thank you for a lovely weekend, Lee & Laura” Lee, (Stayed January 2020)

“We really enjoyed our stay in the barn. It's cosy and had everything we needed and more. Location is good, the road didn't bother us at all. We just didn't want to leave the house as it was so comfortable and pleasant. Thank you so much to the hosts for a very enjoyable stay.” Diana, (Stayed December 2019)
We had a really nice relaxing stay, the lodge is beautiful and really well equipped, we wasn't missing anything that we needed. Would definitely stay again, the welcome package was so nice to come in to and was delicious! Poppy, (Stayed September 2019)
Had an amazing long weekend. The place is stunning. Interiors are well decorated and amenities are superb, especially the super comfortable bed and the awesome barbecue. The cottage is extremely spacious and well connected to outside porch and the garden so I was spoiled for choice of where to sit to drink coffee and read. I highly recommend the visit. You will be pleasantly surprised no matter how high your expectations might be. Will definitely visit again!” Amir, (Stayed August 2019)
“We had a wonderful stay at the cart lodge, the barn was beautifully presented with little things that gave it 5 star touches! I would highly recommend staying here, although the road remains busy it is in a very peaceful romantic setting! I wish we could have stayed longer!” Noemi, (Stayed August 2019)
There is no doubt that The Cart Lodge is a beautiful renovation that has been lovingly restored to a very high specification. We enjoyed the property and garden immensely and particularly enjoyed sitting by the pond looking at all the inhabitants, but did find the persistent road noise detrimental to a peaceful stay as it’s just set back from the A140, but that said this may be just us, as we live in a very quiet location and on reading the reviews again on our return, this doesn’t seem to have been an issue for former guests. We were lucky enough to have stayed during the hot weather and took full advantage of sitting on the gloriously comfortable sofa and having the bi-fold doors open continuously, which really did feel like we were in the garden, with the advantage of being shaded from the sun, so a perfect aspect. Although we didn’t get to meet the owners, when I messaged them they were responsive and dealt with any matter promptly . Gill, (Stayed August 2019)
“Really nice cottage with thoughtful touches. Perfect place to get away from the city, the garden deck is perfect for relaxing. The owners let us stay past the check out time too. Couldn’t recommend the place anymore.” Violette, (Stayed July 2019)

“The Cart Lodge was such a beautiful place to stay for myself and my boyfriend on our anniversary. We really enjoyed our stay here and would defiantly recommend to friends and family. The Lodge had everything we needed throughout our stay and the view and surrounding were absolutely amazing! We had really lovely weather on our last day so made the most of it and had a little BBQ outside on the decking. The hosts were amazing and communication was really good and fast. Would definitely stay here again'' Daisie & Ross, (Stayed September 2018)
“A lovely cottage giving secluded accommodation and much-needed piece and quiet. the cottage was suffering from the heatwave when we stayed so weren't able to enjoy two of the balconies and we had a problem with flies but access and accommodation all good. ” Gareth, (Stayed August 2018)
Lovely clean, spacious lodge. Nice personal touches, Ideal for a romantic or relaxing stay. Thank you for making it a lovely stay. Super clean and nice personal touches. What a nice little property you have. Edward, (Stayed June 2018)
Just back from a weekend stay at the Cart Lodge and it was superb. The cottage really is lovely and the pictures on the website don't really do it justice. It has everything you could wish for. The 'Welcome pack' waiting for us when we got there was a really nice touch which just added to a wonderful stay. Adam and Vicky, (Stayed May 2018)
We had the most wonderful stay ( our second ) here at The Cart Lodge. As before, everything was beautifully clean with absolutely everything provided that we needed - and then some! A particularly lovely added extra was getting to watch all the wild life - including some amazing Frogs/Toads and Newts in the pond! We both had a fantastic time and will definitely be back for a third stay! Thank you Haydon & Jo, (Stayed April 2018)
Beautiful, relaxing well equipped cottage. We completed a 30mile bike ride whilst we were there and came back to a lovely log burner and relaxed.” Catherine, (Stayed April 2018)
We had a fantastic time at the Cart Lodge. The house itself is beautiful (even the rather lovely pictures don’t do it justice!), and the amenities and cleanliness were superb. It was by far and away the most relaxing holiday we’ve had in ages, and exactly what was needed! The Deli next door is wonderful, and an absolute ‘must visit’ for anyone staying at the Cart Lodge. The bed and sofa are both super comfortable, the bedding is top quality, and the shower really lovely. Could not recommend this place more. Haydon & Jo, (Stayed February 2018)
The lodge was a perfect place to stay for a relaxing weekend and for people looking for more freedom than a typical hotel. It was a well equipped and high quality accommodation, as nice as any 5* hotel. The owners Denise and Adrian have clearly put a lot of work into all the small details and the welcome pack was delightful! Amy, (Stayed October 2017)
We stayed in this beautiful lodge in October, just in time to make the most of the log burning stove and the wool blankets. Ideally situated, we were a quick stroll from the most incredible deli.. where we not only breakfasted but stocked up on incredible meats, cheeses, crackers and beers for the evening. Not far from the Lodge were lovely walks and an abdundance of proper country pubs including an excellent vegetarian pub just down the road. The house itself has been built from beautiful materials and with every creature comfort one could wish for. Sitting outside in the morning, overlooking the pond in rocking chairs and reading was bliss. The owners were incredibly kind and helpful and very generous too. A lovely little welcome gift was a real sursprise. I would highly recommend staying in this luxurious hideaway, total no brainier Helen, (Stayed October 2017)

The Cart Lodge is simply perfect. The location is so beautiful and every little element has been carefully considered. The outside space is just wonderful and full of so much beautiful wildlife. We even had a kingfisher come and keep us company. The lodge itself has been beautifully finished and was a true pleasure to relax in and enjoy. Denise was great with her communication and welcome.
