  • description

Drawing inspiration from the best of contemporary architecture, this beautiful new home (completed 2017) has long windows, a first floor sun terrace, a courtyard garden with water feature, and all hidden Riad-style, behind a 400 year old Indian wooden gateway.

'' Cloudbreak is an outstanding property, you won't want to leave and will want to spend as much time here as possible. The enclosed courtyard is a great space and adds another room to the property. It's a real 'Grand Design' '' Barry Sept 18
'' Cloudbreak is a wonderful holiday home set in a lovely part of Aldeburgh, a short walk from the beach, shops and pubs. The house is designed, furnished, decorated and equipped to the highest standards. The owners have put much thought and care into making guests feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible, including a superbly equipped kitchen. We shall certainly be recommending both Cloudbreak and Cottage Tree to friends and relatives ''. Eve Dec17

Curved bi-fold doors deliver floods of light to the open plan living space and the limestone flooring catches the sun and fills the rooms with natural light. The modern kitchen with large island leads through to the dining and sitting area, where the sofa centres around a large wall mounted TV creating a relaxed homely space for everyone to gather. From the rear of the living area, a stunning glass and steel spiral staircase leads to the first floor double bedroom with en-suite shower room and access to the south and west facing balcony. A corridor separates the living area from the ground floor twin bedroom, bathroom and cloakroom and a staircase leads to the first floor twin bedroom, The Sail Loft, beautifully lit by dormer windows, and the separate shower room.

Please be aware, if you have very small children, this property may not be suitable as the master bedroom is a distance from the other bedrooms and accessed via the spiral staircase.

A beautifully designed modern house with a lovely small courtyard garden in a fantastic location in the heart of Aldeburgh and very near the beach. It is ideal for three couples especially as there are three bathrooms as well as a downstairs loo. It is very comfortable and well equipped. We loved Aldeburgh and the surrounding coastline and would highly recommend The Lighthouse restaurant for a meal. Val, (Stayed September 2023)
We had a wonderful stay in Aldeburgh at this property. The house was very well equipped and comfortable and beautifully decorated, as the photos show. The location was quiet but near to the beach and the shops/restaurants. There were very clear instructions for finding the property and check in and the hosts were responsive when we needed to get in touch. Victoria, (Stayed July 2023)
We had a lovely stay at this beautiful house in Aldeburgh. A stunning property in a wonderful location. Sara, (Stayed January 2023)
We had a lovely stay at Cloudbreak, it was a perfect venue for a small family Christmas. Well equipped, in a quiet location, the kitchen & lounge area is a particularly great space for relaxing. 5 minute walk to the main street. Kat, (Stayed December 2021)
A truly wonderful hidden gem and a certain place that we will revisit. High quality accommodation and a peaceful tranquil hidden spot, but still moments from the high street. Christopher, (Stayed October 2021)
A lovely and very comfortable property, excellently designed, appointed and furnished. Very conveniently situated for all the delights that Aldeburgh has to offer. Ken, (Stayed September 2021)
It was the first time our 3 generation family have stayed together in such a long time but it was a lovely break and would highly recommend it. Cloudbreak is such a wonderfully presented house the pictures don't do it justice. Only a short walk to the High Street and the beach so a perfect location. Lyn, (Stayed September 2021)
Wow! What a property; the photos don't do it justice. Spacious, brilliantly designed, spotlessly clean and just a short stroll into Aldeburgh. The living room has fabulous bi-fold doors that open right up onto the private courtyard, which is a sun trap. The beds are super comfortable. The area is quiet. Wish we could have stayed longer. Hannah, (Stayed June 2021)
Cloudbreak was absolutely fabulous in every way. The property was in a great order, high quality fixtures and fittings. Very stylish. We contacted the host for a few questions and we received a very quick response It is a very short walk to the high street and beach We will definitely stay here again if we return to Aldeburgh Only downside was our weather!!! Karen, (Stayed June 2021)
This is such a beautiful property and a great find! Close to the town and beach. Can walk it in well under ten mins. Kitchen is well equipped and the open place is just wonderful. The courtyard gets the sun all day which is perfect. Sarah, (Stayed May 2021)
We stayed at Cloudbreak for a long weekend and were not disappointed upon arrival. The outdoor sitting area is a perfect sun trap and a private area to unwind. The large windows provide a light/airy feel to the interior with high specs throughout, it had everything we needed. Overall we had a wonderful few days and throughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely visit again and recommend for anyone wanting a relaxing break. Thank you! Charlotte, (Stayed April 2021)
This is such a fantastic house - a real home away from home which has been styled with exceptional taste. The location is perfect - so peaceful and yet a few minutes walk and you are on the high street with all that aldeburgh has to offer. I would highly recommend. Ian, (Stayed April 2021)
Really lovely post lockdown stay in this beautiful home. Fantastic location to walk into town and the beach. We loved the super comfy sofa we could all sit on and the courtyard which is a complete suntrap even when the bitter wind is blowing in from the sea! Louise, (Stayed April 2021)
We left Cloudbreak today, extremely reluctantly , as we’d had the most gloriously relaxing 5 days!....We loved the house and thoroughly enjoyed getting away. It was all very easy, clean and exactly what we needed. We loved it! Huge thanks to the chadds and to you both. Happy Christmas and have a healthy and altogether easier 2021! Best wishes Catherine, Ralph and Maya, (Stayed December 2020)
“A lovely stay in a lovely property. Everything you need and a great location just a short walk from the beach” Graham, (Stayed November 2020)
Great, modern spacious house. Fantastic location, very quiet, yet minutes from high st and beach. Ideal for families with older children due to the twin bedrooms being in an almost annex part of the house . Great that every bedroom had own bathroom as makes a good choice for adults trip too Amanda, (Stayed November 2020)
This house is truly beautiful. A 5 minute walk to the town and the house has everything you need included. My children liked playing with the games and playing in the garden. Hope to return for another visit Kelly, (Stayed October 2020)
This property is absolutely beautiful. It has everything you could possibly require and more. My friends and I had a wonderful break, I cannot recommend it enough. Also, great location! Joanne, (Stayed October 2020)
“Excellent house. Close enough to town and plenty of space for two couples with children. Lovely communal and outside areas. Only the weather let us down!” Jamie, (Stayed September 2020)
“My family (2 adults and twin 5 year olds) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cloud Break. On arrival the instructions were clear and precise which made check in easy. The house is beautifully built and well thought out, and prefect for family leaving and socialising. The house was very clean, and has all the amenities for cooking, as well of plenty of space to store our own things. Its location is perfect, on a nice quiet road, set back and gated. Only 10mins walk to the beach and high street. If we go back to Aldeburgh we would love to book this place again.” Helen, (Stayed August 2020)
Perfect place - the pictures and description are exactly as the website. You will not be disappointed Sue, (Stayed November 2019)
“Cloudbreak is a stunning property and is brilliantly located just a short walk from the High Street and beach. It was a genuine pleasure to be rained in on our first day, even with two small children to entertain! We arrived in the dark so were very grateful for the detailed check-in instructions - all worked fine. One thing to note is that the master bedroom is in a different part of the house to the other bedrooms, up a separate staircase, but that would be a perfect set-up for those with children over 5 or 6, or for an extra couple. Next time we’ll bring the grandparents and take advantage of some of Aldeburgh’s lovely pubs and restaurants! Recommend the Two Magpies Cafe / Bakery for nice brunches, cakes and perfect sausage rolls. Thank you - we had a lovely time.” Hannah, (Stayed October 2019)
“A lovely house. Very well appointed and in a fabulous location.” Giles, (Stayed October 2019)
Beautiful home - Wonderful location just a short walk down to the high street and the beach Caroline, (Stayed September 2019)
“Don’t feel that the house may not live up to the photos - it’s exactly as it looks. Comfy beds and high quality appliances etc. The location is great - just a very short stroll to the shops, restaurants and sea front. Highly recommend the Lighthouse for lunch or dinner (we did both) and fish and chips are a must!” Alison, (Stayed June 2019)
Great location, stylish and well laid out house. Great for children and parents! Guy, (Stayed April 2019)
We stayed as a family of four (includes two teenagers) for 4 nights. The house is beautiful and everything from the build, design, interiors and furnishings are done to a exceptional standard. This is by far the most beautiful property we have stayed in for a short break. The house is light and airy whilst all the bedrooms include quality linen and comfortable beds in a gorgeous space. The house was also very clean. The location is superb-and within walking distance of the high street. Check in was very easy with good, clear instructions and nice touches were provided on our arrival (milk in the fridge, and a bottle of wine and biscuits). We would definitely look to stay in this house on our next visit to Aldeburgh! Kam, (Stayed April 2019)
Amazing house .. if anything the pictures don’t do the house justice .. so well set out and wasn’t a thing I can think of that wasn’t already there .. everything top spec ..spotlessly clean and towels linen again top quality .. would recommend this property to anyone Gary, (Stayed February 2019)

Cloudbreak is an outstanding property, you won't want to leave and will want to spend as much time here as possible. The enclosed courtyard is a great space and adds another room to the property. It's a real 'Grand Design' Barry, (Stayed September 2018)
“Amazing house. We had the best weekend ever. Thank you” Sharon, (Stayed July 2018)
We enjoyed a lovely three days in this beautiful home. It is perfectly situated for access to town and the beach. It was a superb base for us to explore charming Suffolk towns and coastline. It was always nice however to come back to this superbly equipped and comfortable house. We enjoyed our time here so much that we didn’t want to leave. Thanks for being a wonderful host. Everything is carefully thought to make our stay perfect in such a beautiful house. Eren, (Stayed May 2018)
6 go mad in Suffolk! Despite rain for the whole weekend the charm and individuality of Aldeburgh shone through. You have build a very special home. It was a privilege to enjoy the fruits of your labour. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If you could sort the weather we would award you a 6*! Thank you! Janet, (Stayed April 2018)

Came to relax in nice surroundings in the middle of moving, renting and little two bed for six weeks in Woodbridge. The house is lovely, comfortable, lovely shower, so clean. Had a sunbathe in the sunny garden, after breakfast outside. Walked to Lighthouse first night and Brundnell the second. Just what we needed, will highly recommend. Michael & Debbie, (Stayed September 2017)
Just a note to say how much we enjoyed staying in Cloudbreak last week . Your house is a magical oasis in the bustle of Aldeburgh. A few minutes from the tennis courts, a brisk walk to the beach and yacht club and not too far to the golf club, could not be better placed. I love your eastern front door and courtyard a real sun trap but my favourite place is the upper deck looking up at the stars I will definitely book again for next year. David, (Stayed August 2017)
Spent a long week end at Cloudbreak and found the house immaculate. A stunning spacious imaginative modern house in a perfect location everything we needed was there and much more .Will definitely go back Clare, (Stayed August 2017)
We absolutely loved our stay at Cloudbreak, the place is extremely clean and well appointed. The location was amazing, very quiet but only minutes walk from the sea front and the town centre. We loved the design and feel of the building and particularly enjoyed eating our meals in the lovely courtyard, Jess, (Stayed July 2017)
