An absolute gem! We wanted a relaxing mini break & were not disappointed. Set in beautiful peaceful surroundings yet close enough to drive to all that suffolk has to offer. The private patio & garden are a real sun trap. Carl & Alison are the perfect hosts & have literally thought of everything. Tasteful decor, quality furnishings, fresh flowers on the table, a locally sourced welcome hamper.......... We were made to feel so welcome we felt as if we were staying with friends. Sue, (Stayed August 2024)
Great location, well equipped and lovely hosts. A Suffolk gem ! Stephen, (Stayed August 2024)
Buttermilk Barn was a wonderful place to stay. The photos do not do it justice. Inside was spotlessly clean and well appointed without being cluttered. Very tasteful and artistic interior i felt so calm and at home. The huge picture window overlooking the garden let in lots of natural light. The hosts were brilliant very nice honest people who were very helpful and were there if you wanted them without being imposing. They left a lovely food basket for us which was wonderful . I have stayed in many air bnb in Suffolk. This has to be the best. Wake up in the morning sit in the garden outside and listen to the birds . The nearest restaurant pub is a couple of miles away which is absolutely no problem. 5 stars for sure. Janet, (Stayed August 2023)
Very friendly and helpful owners - Carl made us feel very welcome and at home. Lovely little barn in beautiful grounds with very good sized living area, views of the gardens, nice kitchen/dining area & separate bedroom area. Really lovely shower room. All beautifully finished & furnished. Very quiet and private location but not too far from places to visit. Will definitely come back when visiting our family again. Gina, (Stayed July 2023)
A gorgeous annex in tranquil Suffolk gardens. Perfect for a solo trip or two people. Alison and Carl are kind and friendly and leave you a very thoughtful welcome basket full of lovely goodies. The apartment is spacious, clean and well-decorated. They were kind enough to let me check out a little later, too. I'd definitely stay again. Holly, (Stayed July 2023)
Can’t recommend Buttermilk Barn highly enough. Set in a beautiful location with stunning garden views. Comfortable , quiet and very stylish. Great hosts, thank you Alison & Carl. X Ann, (Stayed May 2023)
Lovely few days in a beautiful place! The Barn has everything you could need and is spotlessly clean and so comfortable – thank you! Phil & Stef, (Stayed August 2022)
So good to come and crash at this wonderful place! Amazing to be “away from it all” but also close to so many lovely things to do…. Such a tonic – thankyou so much! Ed & Suzie, (Stayed August 2022)
We thoroughy enjoyed our peaceful stay…… Such a lot to see in the area, Dunwich, Southwold, Otley Hall, Helmingham Hall, Framlingham and local walks. Anne and Nigel, (Stayed July 2022)
We really enjoyed our time here. Everything was perfect and once you see a pheasant watching you at the other side of the window.. freeview loses all appeal. Suffolk has been a revelation…. Plenty of good memories. Marina & Karl, (Stayed June 2022)
Lovely accommodation! Had such a relaxing week. Plenty to see in the area and enjoyed the quieter roads and sleepy villages etc. Very hospitable hosts and thankful for all the information and suggestions for eating out. The Leicesters, (Stayed June 2022)
This was just what we needed! This is such a beautiful light space, tranquil surroundings and you were such hospitable hosts. Thank you for making this lovely space and the garden with its regular feathered visitors is a treat! Tracey & Peter , (Stayed May 2022)
Stunning annexe, beautifully designed and so comfortable and warm. Barb & Nigel, (Stayed May 2022)
